Moringa contains phytosterols like β-sitosterol, in which this compound plays a role as an anti-alopecia (wherein Alopecia is the condition of partial or complete absence of hair from an area of the body where it usually grows) happens through the blocking of 5 α-reductase enzymes, which then prevents the formation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) the cause of hair loss. In addition, Moringa has a linoleic acid component which can significantly increase the proliferation of dermal papilla cells which contribute to the regeneration of hair growth. Also, tocopherols and lauric acid present in the plant extract have antioxidant activity increasing blood circulation towards the hair follicles.
